Editor-in-Chief Guidelines
Editor-in-Chief‘s shapes the research that is being done and being on the cutting edge of the latest advancements of your field that are the true rewards. Editor-in-Chief is selected by the Phronesis management, based on their current affiliation, contribution to the Open Access Scientific community and also on active participation and involvement in the Journal development along with their efficiency in work. Below are the responsibilities for the Editor-in-Chief, where he/she has to abide to them based on the conditions and situations that might arose:
- Nominating new editorial members and also has the right to remove the members who are inactive in the sense not at all participating the journal’s development/ obeying editorial responsibilities.
- Assigning submitted articles to the respective editor’s/ reviewers based on their expertise. Monitoring the editor/s and reviewer/s in their active participation and also in performing review process and check whether it is done in an unbiased manner.
- Continuous monitoring the submissions of the articles and assessing the Journal’s acceptance and rejection rates, this mainly helps in assessing the journal’s standards.
- Editor-in-Chief has to give the Letter of acceptance and Reject based on the collection of comments from editor and/or reviewer’s to each and every article submitted to review in AJLS.
Note: Few articles will be rejected at the condition called Desk rejection, where the articles will be rejected by the Editor-in-Chief immediately without sending to review process when he founds that article is unsound, out of scope, or illegible due to poor English usage.
- Editor-in-Chief/s is sole responsible for the journal’s activities and content, he/she needs to update the policies written based on the different consequences which he/she might has gone through.
- Editor-in-Chief has to write few editorial’s that will encourage and increase the journal’s citation’s.
- He/She has to take the sole responsibility for regular and timely issue releases for the journal. He/She should also take care of the Journal indexing status.
- Editor-in-Chief has to implement new ideas and should encourage other members to implement their ideas which will help for the Journal’s standards and developments.
- He/She should show a fair play in giving the decisions and implementing the ideas.
- Editor-in-Chief should take the sole responsibility in coining the special issue topics and assigning them to different editor’s based on their expertise.
